Beyond Filmmaking

Many years ago I had a brown leather notebook in which I would write my ideas inside. Not film ideas, existential ideas, ideas and theories about the connection of body and mind and if ‘soul’ really exists or how they are connected to one another. Ideas about the Big Bang, space-time, dimensions, hearing colours and seeing sounds. Little I knew that many of them were in fact other theories by philosophers and scientists like RenĂ© Descartes. Although the notebook was full of ideas and deep thoughts presented in many forms such as drawings, it got very little attention and even achieved some level of humiliation from family and friends.

They would laugh at me for thinking about things which seemed obvious and common sense to some people such as the thought of “who is ‘I’”. I wrote pages about the word ‘I’ and I looked at it from as many different perspectives as I could. However, after much humiliation and being told that school and good grades are more important than these things I stopped and did not write again. After years have passed, I still think of these matters, of the mysteries of life, of the codes hidden in everything we see, ignore and walk by. Now on the path of filmmaking, I want to start writing again, the camera will be my pen and the screen will witness my chaotic but incredible imagination.

Down to the creative-killer systems. We fight by creating
